Corbetts - Merchandising Announcement

The Oakville Hornets Girls Hockey Association is pleased to announce a 3 year merchandising agreement with Corbett’s Source for Sports that will see Corbett’s take over all aspects of the Hornets merchandising program.

Through this agreement, a greater variety of merchandise will be available for immediate pick-up or for special order.  The current catalog of Hornets branded merchandise is available at http://corbetts.sourceforsports.com/hornets-apparel-2011 or from the Merchandise link on the Hornets website or by visiting Corbett’s at 450 South Service Road.

In addition to Hornets branded merchandise, Hornets players are now members of the Corbett’s Preferred Player Program (Ask for details when visiting Corbetts).

2012 AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Oakville Hornets Girls Hockey Association will be held on May 24, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Oakville Town Hall, Trafalgar Room.  The formal notice is attached to this email.

The following board positions standing for re-election this year are as follows:

•          Vice-President of Operations

•          Vice-President of Rep

•          Secretary

•          Director #1 – House League

•          Director #2 – Rep

•          Director #3– Rep (one year term)

•          Director #4- At Large

•          Director #5- At Large

•          Ombudsman

Rookie coach paves the way for more women behind the bench

It’s a Friday night at a tournament in Detroit in November. The Oakville Hornets’ atom and midget teams are staying in the same hotel. As eight and nine-year old players race through the hallway. Mike Turczyniak notices something odd. There’s not a midget player to be found. When he inquires about the whereabouts of the organization’s oldest team, he’s stunned by the answer he hears. He’s so sure that someone is pulling his leg that he walks down to the hall and knocks on the door.

2012 - 2013 Registration

Online Registration for returning players for the 2012-2013 season is NOW OPEN. ALL divisions (Rep and House League) must register.

April 23rd - May 31st - Earlybird registration will cost $545 (Returning players only)

June 1st - August 22nd - New player registration begins at a cost of $595. Returning players registering after May 31^st will also be charged $595

**Goalies in the ladies division can register for $100**

On-line registration ends August 24th, any registrations after this date will need to be done in person at the Hornets office beginning August 27th. Registrations after August 24th may be subject to an administrative fee.

Refunds/Withdrawals:

1. Prior to September 1^st subject to a $50 administration fee.
2. Withdrawal after September 1^st to September 30^th subject to a $150 administration fee.
3. Withdrawal after September 30^th to Dec 1^st – subject to a $250 administration fee.
4. No refunds after Dec 1^st.
5. If the jersey has been given to player, no refund will be issued until the jersey is returned to the league.

Mentor Coach Position

The Oakville Hornets Girls Hockey Association, as a result of a strategic review of its development program, are pleased to announce a new role in the organization. Starting in the 2012-13 season, the role of Mentor Coach will be accountable for the development of coaching seminars, a strategic coaching model, and a mentorship program for all of our coaches in the rep program.
